On Tuesday night (yeah I know I'm a little late) CM Punk made a huge heel turn and joined the New Breed. At first I didn't like this decision, but now that I think about it, it is fantastic. The New Breed has Marcus Cor Von...who is big like all of the other wrestlers that Vince McMahon is obsessed with...Matt Striker, Kevin Thorn...I'm not going to go into that...and Elijah Burke. Some people try to tell me how good Elijah Burke is, but I do not like him and I think he is a waste of a main event spot just like Lashley is. However I do agree that Burke (sadly) and Punk are the future of this business.
The ECW Originals consist of RVD...the most talented wrestler in ECW...Sabu...when he is on good terms with WWE he is the most exciting wrestler on ECW...Dreamer...extremely fun to watch...and Sandman...he has a big cane and drinks beer. The fans love these four just as much as they love the Hardys or even main eventers like HBK. So I realized that making CM Punk join the Originals would be the equivalent to making a team of HBK, Edge, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, and Matt Hardy (the best of Raw) go against the Highlanders, Val Venis, and Viscera (the worst of Raw). Giving the New Breed CM Punk makes "The New Breed vs. The ECW Originals" more exciting.
Honestly though, I didn't expect this at all. Even when Punk shook hands with Burke I thought he was going to give him a clothesline. I was expecting an exact replica of what happened in June of 1998.
Sting had to join either the nWo Wolfpac (face) or the nWo Hollywood (heel). He joined Hogan and the Giant (heels) in the ring, which is exactly what CM Punk did with Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Then he removed his jacket and showed that he had joined nWo Hollywood and Hogan embraced him. However, he gave a clothesline to Hogan and slammed the Giant and ripped his shirt off and showed that he had joined nWo Wolfpac. I thought that CM Punk would remake this classic scene and end up joining the ECW Originals, but when he got on the shoulders of Marcus Cor Von and Kevin Thorn I knew that he was really on the New Breed.
So, although it was surprising to me, it is the best move that WWE could have made here because I would hate watching an extremely stacked team take on a bunch of shit-heads.

I agree with you...except for your opinion on elijah burke! i think he has potential to be a main event guy. "if elijah said it, it must be true" his Elijah Express that put Sabu through a table was awesome. elijah burke is a great heel and a badass.
i think that puting cm punk (my favorite ecw guy) in the new breed is a way for wwe to get sandman and sabu out of ecw. they will probably lose matches to cm punk and elijah burke clean soon.
