Notes from ECW

The Marcus Cor Von-CM Punk match was awesome. They are probably the two most talented guys on this roster and I love Cor Von's finisher, the Pounce. This was easily my highlight of the night; I just wish the match lasted a little longer. When the lists of wrestlers who have these two men are combined, it reads like a "Who's Who" of technical wrestling: William Regal, Finlay, Stu Hart, and Dan Severn. Those trainers could make The Great Khali watchable, that's how good they are. Also, I don't care at all that the picture of Cor Von is from TNA. He's doing the Pounce and that's all I needed to see.

The Edge announcement was bizarre. I can't remember the last time I saw a "news ticker" during a WWE broadcast. I guess it makes sense with both Kennedy and Taker out of the title picture. Does this mean Edge will head to SMACKDOWN and feud with Batista or Mark Henry? God, I hope not. Is it just me, or does Edge look like a female in this picture?

So it looks like the new breed has dissolved into two singles wrestlers (Thorn and Punk) and a pseudo-tag team (Striker and Burke). Know is nowhere to be found, which is sort of disappointing considering all the good things I've heard about his wrestling. It's possible that Cor Von joins the Burke faction, but it seems more likely that The New Breed was a temporary stable designed to oust The Originals and that's about all.
