This season of the Ultimate Fighter has been pretty entertaining thus far. Contestants of course battle it out and try to become “The Ultimate Fighter.” Nonetheless, the producers of the show were sincere enough to allow eliminated fighters to remain in the house to continue training, with fighting rights taken away. Er, um, more like “official” rights taken away.
I mean, you have a big ol’ mansion, stuffed with a bunch of fighters whose egos are bigger than their heads and you tell them they can’t leave the house unless told to. It’s a formula for bad news. In the season’s eighth episode enmity arose between contestants: Marlon Sims and Noah Thomas, both of whom lost their preliminary bouts early in the show. Drunk and ego driven, a street brawl broke out between the two, labeled by Cole Miller as “the most technical street-fight ever.” I couldn’t have said it better myself. The fight was actually pretty entertaining in my opinion. From Thomas being slammed on his head twice, once on a flower bed and once on the patio, to Thomas nearly snapping Sims’ arm in a tightly locked arm-bar, I’d say it was pretty action packed. After the “fight” I came to realize that not only could you bitch slap someone, but you can actually bitch kick someone, as Thomas so gracefully did to Sims.
Dana White of course, being the eloquent speaker he is, was like the Hobgoblin dropping F-bomb after F-bomb as he scolded the fighters. Dana acted disgusted and kicked out Berube, who refereed the bout, along with Sims and Thomas.
Oh, by the way, I felt the brief recap necessary for those that missed it. Moving on, SpikeTV.com had issued a press release a few weeks back, announcing a rematch of Sims-Thomas, this time in a the octagon of course. It was originally scheduled for June 23 at the season five finale in Las Vegas. HOWEVER, Dana White wants nothing of this matter.
“They’re not fighting on the finale, not only are they not fighting in the finale, they’ll never fight in the UFC. Spike wanted that fight. It ain’t gonna happen. No fucking way is that fight going to happen. Those guys will never fight in the UFC — ever.”
A bit harsh? Maybe. Totally necessary? Oh yeah. The last thing we need is more publicity on this street fight, that will do nothing but further hurt the sport and give asshole critics more to bicker about (i.e. Brian “The Fat Bastard” Vanochten). I mean sure White seemed and acted disgusted, but if he truly didn’t want this to happen and believed that it would hurt the sport as much as I do and other hardcore MMA heads out there, he very well could have NOT exploited the piece and chosen not to air it. ANYWAY, I digress. I’m just happy that the fighters aren’t going to be rewarded and allowed to compete in the UFC after the spanking and scolding White delivered to them on the television series.
We need not have pointless negative vibe towards the sport of MMA!
Stay classy fans (don’t try to be the next Kimbo Slice),

As poor of a fighter as Kimbo is, I can't wait to see his fight. There's something about a marketable figure like him that poor skills cannot override.
LOL, he's been working vigorously on his BJJ skills at my gym. Now he's at Bas Rutten's gym sparring and what not. Can't wait actually :D Goodnight Mercer!
Who do you give the first fight to?
LOL, man, Noah was a bitch and let the arm go, he could have snapped it and won. But, because he let it go Sims ended up beating his ass and ultimately winning IMO.
You?
