Tonight's RAW was the greatest episode of all-time...I can't say enough how well WWE has handled this situation.
RAW began with Vince McMahon dropping his "death" storyline and stating that the episode would be a 3-hour tribute to the life of Chris Benoit. This was the classiest and most professional option that Vince had, and you could tell that he was very serious and very emotional about the situation.
We saw some of the finest moments in Benoit's career, including his winning of the World Heavyweight Championship at Madison Square Garden. It was sad to see Chris Benoit and his best friend Eddie Guerrero hugging each other in the ring after the main event, realizing that both men are now dead just over three years later.
According to the Associated Press, the deaths of Benoit and his family are being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Again, WWE has been very impressive throughout this situation and I hope they continue what they've begun.

I hope it's found out that it wasn't a murder suicide by Chris. If you listened to Chavo and Stephanie and Edge talk about him and how much his family meant to him it would be extremely sad if it was. I did notice that not long after it was announced that it might be a murder-suicide that they pulled Stephanie's and Chavo's testimonials off wwe.com.
yea i hope the same, but it is being reported by at least one outlet that investigators believe benoit killed his wife and son over the weekend and then killed himself on monday. i hope it's not true.
What is weird is that other sites were reporting that he had to rush home so didn't work the Saturday show. What caused him to go home?
"We have received word that Chris Benoit had some type of family emergency earlier this weekend and had to rush to his home in Atlanta, Georgia.
The only thing that we know about the situation is that it was a “touch-and-go” trip and he should be at tonight’s pay-per-view. However, Benoit was unable to make last night’s SmackDown house show in Beaumont, Texas.
The latest word that we have heard is that Benoit will be at tonight’s Vengeance pay-per-view and will work his bout with C.M. Punk for the ECW Title; however, nothing is a lock."
I know they are now saying they think he killed his wife Saturday, his son on Sunday and then himself sometime Monday, but something sounds fishy. From the way everyone described him as a person and how he was with his family and how he helped everyone, this just sounds like something is missing.
It's pretty much official that this was a double murder suicide. It is indeed difficult to mourn Benoit now. If he weren't a wrestler, we'd all be castigating him for his cowardly behavior. Unfortunately, we must do that now.
I wonder if steriod use may have contributed to this.
I say the steroids caused some type of mental breakdown and emotional downfall.
It's not an offical murder suicide. That's what they're treating it as until proven otherwise. Why are people saying he had to rush home to kill his family? I don't see how that makes sense.
Your hero's a murder. Murdered his wife. Murdered his own son. Then cowardly, killed himself.
Well I must say I was shocked when I heard it this morning, I've been a wrestling fan all my life and benoit was one of the guys I couldnt take my eyes off, he was quick paced, energetic and very good at what he did, I still can't believe what's happened, he didn't seem like a guy who'd just kill his family then himself, as you said, It seems wierd that he had to just rush home like that, I don't believe myself that steriods were involved in this because there were not many signs of a struggle or rage, also he did it over a period of 2 days, if it were rage, it would have probably been done in the space of minutes, maybe an hour, there is definatly something missing in all of this, but there was no sign of entry to the house, so obviously Benoit will be named the culprit. I trly hope its not a steroid related incident because I've been trying to defend him to friends and family.
CHRIS BENOIT is the best!!! FOREVER AND EVER!
