Huge news regarding TNA superstar Samoa Joe. Is there a possibility of him coming to WWE? I look into the future and analyze why most wrestlers hate TNA.
Now this is obviously far away in the future…but it is nice to think about. Samoa Joe just recently turned down a 3-year contract extension with TNA, and apparently TNA has been trying to make a deal with him for some time now. It is reported that Joe wanted a raise, but was very angry when he found out that he could only get the raise after he agreed to the 3-year contract extension. There is no word on the possibility of Samoa Joe jumping ship yet, and in fact he might use the “I’m going to leave” thing to gain more money.
If he did jump ship and go to WWE, what would all of this mean? I’ll tell you what it would mean. Half of the people who work for TNA are not satisfied with TNA. Think about it…recently Konnan and Ron Killings left, Samoa Joe declined a contract extension, Senshi asked for his release (but was turned down), and morale is apparently terrible backstage.
If I may quote the PW Torch:
“The current backstage morale in Orlando can best be described as "terrible". Most of the TNA roster (including top talent) is unhappy with how bad the booking has been for quite some time. There is no faith that the writing will improve any time soon and there is a shared consensus that changes are needed. With recent rumors that Jeff Jarrett is slated for another run with the TNA World title in the coming months, many are losing faith that the company is even on the verge of heading in the right direction.”
I read about one report just like this every week or two.
Konnan was recently on a radio show and was asked why he left TNA, and he said:
“A combination of five years of lies building up and not getting paid enough money.”
Now that I am done hating on TNA, I’ll get back to Samoa Joe…
If Samoa Joe comes to WWE then I would say he should go to Smackdown. Have him boost the “B” show for awhile then maybe move him to RAW after a few years. Think about bringing him in as a face and having the following feuds:
Samoa Joe vs. MVP
Samoa Joe vs. Edge
Samoa Joe vs. (bring him from ECW) CM Punk
Or on RAW:
Samoa Joe vs. John Cena
Samoa Joe vs. Randy Orton
Samoa Joe vs. Mr. Kennedy
Just incase you didn’t know, Samoa Joe is a GREAT wrestler. He became the face of Ring of Honor, and took part in 2 of Dave Meltzer’s extremely rare 5-star matches while he was in Ring of Honor (vs. CM Punk and vs. Kenta Kobashi). That is why he would be great in WWE. If he and CM Punk had a Cena-Edge length feud then TNA would be blown off the map. If you want to see some classic Samoa Joe in ROH then please watch the youtube video of him vs. CM Punk...Part 1...Part 2...Part 3

huzzah! or do i say hooo- rah!? people are now starting to see that u just cant out do the perfessionels in this kind of bussiness. i can finally say it. tna is going down. and wwe is gonna go straight up. screw u rvd and sabu for leaving!! bold statements? maybe. but i am sure that wwe will give us what we want and soon.
we miss u benoit!!!
Nobody wants Sabu.
As for RVD, he's a smart man and can see what's happening with TNA. Unless the situation at TNA improves, he'll just work indies or go back to WWE eventually.
Sabu is an ECW wrestler. Not a new ECW, new breed, whatever wrestler...an old, Philadelphia, Alhambra hall maniac. He never fit in well with the new vision.
That being said, and even though I wouldn't want Sabu if I were Vince, he's a fantastic entertainer.
sabu could be great if he were utilized properly...if he wasn't that valuable to wwe, then they should have put him out there in his element...hardcore matches! and then if he had gotten injured, it wouldnt have been a huge deal.
Haha from what I understand, he was "trying to get fired" anyway. Am I correct that we have a hardcore match tonight for the title?? I'm begging the WWE to surprise me and have dreamer beat the hell out of Nitro.
Tna is a grate place to be, there are a bunch of wreslers that are trying to get a start and some who whant to go back to the baciks like sting or rino even Jeff Jaret and scott stiner TNA is a grate place to start out and get some frends in the bussnes!
I think you guys are over simplifying this just a bit. WWE is a promotion that is built on looks. That's why Beniot, Batista, Rey Mysterio and many many others on that roster are on the roids. Joe has a different "non-WWE" look to him. He's fat. WWE guys are ripped. Not only that, but his style of wrestling doesn't compliment the typical WWE main eventer. He'd be good against a high flyer but no way would put a good match against someone over 300lbs.
Don't get me wrong, I love Samoa Joe to death but he should just go back to ROH and have more 5 star matches. The independent promotions have an audience that is just a tad bit smarter than the WWE crowds. I mean, WWE tries to market to women and kids. Joe is a wrestler for GUYS.
It's just not a good fit...
You're right, Samoa Joe definitely has a different style than WWE normally allows for. At the same time, CM Punk came into WWE straight out of his legendary ROH run and has created a style for himself that is one of the most unique in the company. Most of the moves he does during a match are unique to him and him only.
Samoa Joe could also take all of his skills and put them into a wrestling style that WWE would approve of. He would separate himself from the rest of the company based on his skill, just like CM Punk has.
CM Punk doesn't use an original move set. In fact, his move set is a colaboration of KENTA's finisher, Mutah's moves and manurisms, Joe's moves, and some of his own. This is not bad, but certainly not original.
