Post Draft Analysis

All right, I think that it is time to look back at the WWE draft. I'll analyze the overall results of the draft by handing out awards to brands/wrestlers...including "Best Move," "Most Impact," "Brand Best Helped," etc...

Best Move: Mr. Kennedy
The future top superstar in wrestling deserves to be on the top show in wrestling. This is a great move, and we will hopefully get him in a nice title feud with Cena for Summerslam or after Summerslam.

Worst Move: Sandman
I have been against this move since the draft, and I am still against it. I was surprised that WWE isn't using him as a jobber (which is good) but still it seems fit that The Hardcore Icon should be on the most hardcore show. The man brings a weapon to the ring with him every match...I'm pretty sure that's a little more hardcore then bringing some worms to the ring...

Most Impact: Bobby Lashley/Johnny Nitro
Lashley has already had a title shot (at Vengeance) and he is already in a singles title program with Cena. Expect to see some major (but probably not exciting) feuds with him.

Nitro is actually already the ECW champion. Basically Nitro's timeline is this:

1. Get drafted to ECW
2. Beat Nunzio on his ECW debut
3. Beat CM Punk at Vengeance to win the ECW World Title

...Now is it just me or is something missing there?...like building up his character a little? yeeeah...

Least Impact: Snitsky
Snitsky still hasn't even wrestled a match yet on RAW. I did just see a promo for him last Monday...but what will he do? I say he'll be The Great Khali of RAW (squash a bunch of little guys until a superstar frees up from a feud). I see zero impact coming from him for awhile.

Brand Most Helped: RAW
Think about it...RAW gained 3 main eventers! (Booker, Lashley, Kennedy) Not to mention a great women's wrestler (Jillian) 3 fun to watch superstars (London & Kendrick, The Sandman) and a few jobbers. RAW came out of this draft much better then they were before...and they weren't even that bad to start with.

Brand That Got the Shaft: ECW
Yes ladies and gentlemen...ECW was shafted. Their best superstar that they gained was Benoit...who was great while he was with us...Other then that they gained The Boogeyman (good in a weird sort of way), The Miz (not extreme, but he could do well), Viscera (I've never been a fan), and Johnny Nitro (really good...but doesn't deserve the title). The only good thing for ECW was that they lost Snitsky. I used to say that it was good that they lost Lashley, but Lashley gave ECW a face...an ugly one...but nonetheless a face. He wasn't extreme but he brought fans, and honestly I wouldn't mind seeing him back on there.

Excellent article, with some really salient points.

Nitro did seem to skip some steps there, didn't he? Hell, The Miz just beat Nunzio! Will he be getting a title shot next? I doubt it.

great article, and i can't disagree with any of the picks.

KENNEDY is the future...good thing he's now on the A show.

Yeah, they're all solid picks...when I read this, I can't help but be worried about the WWE. They were having a hard enough time simply continuing with their old story lines before the Benoit death.

Now, they have to start over?

All I can say is Thank God for people like Kennedy and Punk.
