Wanderlei Fires Back!

A few days ago, UFC President Dana White president told Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports that Wanderlei Silva had supposedly "ducked" the fight against Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell. MMA fans were confused, many were not convinced and were itching for the truth. Wanderlei finally fired back to the false allegations and posted his response on his official website.

In a video response, Wanderlei states:

“I never said that I wouldn’t fight Chuck. I’ve wanted this fight for a long time. I received a contract with two options, I could fight in September or November. I have chosen to make this fight in November. I was the first to want this fight, but they kept avoiding this fight. Now there’s a lot of people saying that I have ducked Chuck. This is not true.”
Silva goes continues to say:
"I am in a moment of transition in my life. I'm going to move to the U.S. in a few weeks. I'm going to live in the U.S. and there's a lot of things happening, and I'm not focused on training the way I want to be. I always fought at the time the promoters wanted. Sometimes I did things I should not have done, but this time I won't do that anymore."
So, what was merely a time conflict was of course blown out of proportion by the king of evil, Dana White. White's little devious tricks were obvious to me, taking on the fact that Wanderlei told me himself he's been waiting for this fight and is excited to make his debut in the UFC. I mean, we're talking about PRIDE's five year reigning former middleweight champion, a man who took on Mark Hunt (who heavily outweighs Silva) at three days notice! Throw me a God damn bone here Dana, who are you trying to fool?

What a douche bag suck licker.

Wanderlei concluded by saying
“I want to fight chuck in November and make a huge show, and make it the biggest show ever…I have no doubts it’s the most important fight of my life. I know Chuck is a great name in the U.S., we’ll do a great fight. I think I must be in my best shape, so I want this time to train better to be in my bets shape ever. This fight is on, if he Chuck doesn’t hide behind this mess.”
Now, I love both fightersand I know Chuck Liddell isn't one to back out of fights either, so that just leaves Mr. White. White seems to love stirring up unnecessary controversy amongst fighters and always seem like the first one to point fingers.

Whatever, bottom line is, both fighters want to fight each other, both are coming off big knockout losses, so...STOP CLOWNING AROUND AND MAKE THIS FIGHT HAPPEN!

For the love of God, please.

If anything comes up, I'll be sure to keep you posted.

If he wants not fight in November instead of September, that takes him off the 76 card (leaving it weak, with Shogun-Machida as the main event). However, it puts him on the 78 card, which along with Sherk-Penn, would be one of the best cards in recent memory.

Well, Jardine is coming in to replace Silva for UFC 76...So that should be interesting.

Please tell me that you mean "A Jardine Fight" and not "Liddell vs. Jardine."

Liddell vs. Jardine...!

I have less than zero interest in a Liddell-Jardine fight.

Early reports from Dana White suggest that it will be named "UFC 76: Losers of UFC 71 Collide!"
