Over the past several hours, it's been reported that Edge will be dropping his World Heavyweight Championship on this week's Smackdown due to a torn pectoral muscle. This is yet another case of the injury plague for the WWE. The big question is, who will win the title? Batista? Kane? Mark Henry? MATT HARDY?
Here's my prediction: Smackdown will hold a battle royal main event this week to find the new champion. The winner will end up taking on Kane at the Bash.
Who do I think should win? Kane. He's a fantastic wrestler, he's great to watch, his entrance is awesome, and it would be fun to watch him terrorizing the Smackdown locker room during his title reign. Also, as much as Kane has dominated in the WWE, he only has one world title reign to show for it...and it lasted only a day.
Who do I think will win? I'm putting my money on Batista. I can see a Batista-Khali title feud followed by a Batista-Henry feud. This is sad, since I feel like we've seen this all before.
At this point, I think that even Matt Hardy would make a better champ than Batista. Batista just doesn't do a great job with the belt...Cena does much better. Why not give someone else a shot? Hardy would be a great way to go.

Current Views on the WWE product
To begin, I want to say hello to everyone who views this blog. This is my first post on this board, so feel free to leave your opinions!
Now that my short introduction is out of the way, let's get down to business.
Firstly, how and why has Mark Henry still got a contract with the WWE? He cannot wrestle out of a paper bag, his promos are dull, and he injures wrestlers left, right and centre. Maybe it's Vince clinging on to the Attitude era in the hope Henry can spark some life into the character, but it isn't going to happen.
Secondly, why was Benoit/MVP not on the ECW P.P.V? Their recent feud was quite entertaining, with Benoit really making a star of MVP. I can see MVP becoming a star of the future on the back of this feud with Benoit. Now I hope the WWE doesn't drop the ball with regards to MVP like they have done with so much talent in the past.
Also, a report by Pro Wrestling Torch indicates that the WWE is trying out a new method of not telling the referees the finishes of the matches beforehand. This would apparently make the matches seem more realistic and keep the "smart marks" to keep guessing. To me, it sounds a brilliant idea as it gives the referees more run in ring and not just there to be bumped or count. It would also try and force the wrestlers into telling a decent story in the ring.
And finally, as the draft is coming up in 4 days time, I can't see the WWE sorting out the ECW GM position before then. I expect Paul Heyman to return as he is still under contract with the WWE. Many reports have been cited saying he will return despite the fact that Vince said Heyman would never work for him again. I hope Heyman returns and Vince brings back Eric Bischoff, too. That way, Bischoff, Heyman and Vince can all be at loggerheads with one another again, even if its only in a storyline sense.
In regards to the draft, I really hope the rumours come true of a Benoit switch to ECW with Rey Mysterio. That way, the brand can try to rebuild the "star" quality that was recently decimated by the loss of Big Show, RVD, Kurt Angle and Sabu. This would leave the possibility for a Benoit/ Punk feud wide open.
That's it for now, hope you enjoyed it.
Editor's note: Our last poll asked fans which emerging WWE star was the most promising. 40% of you thought it was CM Punk, 40% thought it was Marcus Cor Von, and 20% thought it was MVP.
