Current thoughts on the supplemental draft picks

First off, apologies for not posting for a while. Getting to that time of year where I have work to hand in before the term ends.

Now, back to the point:

First pick : Paul London & Brian Kendrick to Raw. Wow, this was a shock seeing as these two have been kicking up a storm on Smackdown with Deuce and Domino. Oh well, World's Greatest Tag Team vs these two anyone?

Second pick : Kenny Dykstra to Smackdown. Hmm, this seems to be a fluff pick for me. I do not like this guy as a wrestler, although he has a chance to rebuild his flagging career much like Chris Masters.

Third pick : Viscera to ECW. Another fluff pick. I do not know why this guy still has a contract with the WWE. I suppose they moved him to ECW in order for him to get on TV more.

Fourth pick: The Sandman to Raw. Wow. This one confused me greatly as Sandman IS ECW. I wanted him to be champ and feud with Benoit. Although, I can see a mid card push for the Sandman.

Fifth pick : Hardcore Holly to Smackdown. This is another confusing one. He was having good matches in ECW and the show and hardcore wrestling go hand in hand. I fail to see whats going to happen on Smackdown

Sixth pick : The Miz to ECW. Is this guy Hardcore? No. So why is he on the Hardcore brand? Pointless. Though I suppose someone has to be there to get beaten up.

Seventh pick : Daivari to Raw. Why? Just why? Yes he can wrestle, but what is he going to achieve back on Raw? He is a cruiserweight on a ladies/heavyweight brand.

Eighth pick : The Major Brothers to Smackdown. I have never seen these guys on ECW. Apparently they are a good team though. As the only tag team on ECW, they have been moved to fill the void of London/Kendrick. Now, can they emulate them?

Ninth pick : William Regal to Raw. One of the British crowd! :D Although, what is he going to achieve on Raw? Unless he forms a tag team up with King Booker, I fail to see him in any other role.

Tenth pick : Victoria to Smackdown. A potential Woman's Champion and she gets moved to Smackdown. Great work there booking team. Another pointless draft.

Eleventh pick : Jillian Hall to Raw. I suppose this has been done to fill the void of Victoria. But I can't see her wrestling much as she isn't that good.

Twelfth pick : Eugene to Smackdown. This is getting tedious. ANOTHER pointless move. What's he going to achieve on Smackdown?

-Thirteenth pick: Johnny Nitro to ECW. And finally, one draft I can see working. The ECW faithful will hate him as he is a pretty boy who got where he is by winning a talent competition. And the ECW crowd will just love that! Look at the old ECW: Funk, Foley, Guerrero, Benoit. People who got where they are from years of work in the ring. Here is your new ECW Champion and number 1 heel!

Thats it for me, back to the grindstone...

I think they keep Viscera around due to the success they had for so many years with truly obese wrestlers (see King Mabel[same guy], Yokozuna, Vader, Earthquake, etc.) The WWE motto as of late: "If it was good enough for The Attitude Era, it's good enough for us."

Also, today's main page on WWE.com read "Fatherless Day." Yeah...

Hey Lee, great article.

I do think that Kenny has a lot of potential in the ring. He and Nitro were dynamite on RAW as a team. Also I can't see a Sandman push. I see him as a jobber if anything (but I may be wrong).

Also I think that Jillian is a great wrestler and has great potential. She did a 450 splash on Mickie James when they were in OVW...and that is pretty darn impressive.

i thought the supplemental draft was great...it allows for a lot of deserving mid and low-card guys to get a fresh push. the miz, daivari, dykstra, viscera, the major brothers, eugene, and nitro all fall under this category. they've all just received some great opportunities.

london and kendrick are finally on the A show where they belong...they're currently the A tag team in the WWE.

i also liked the divas that were swapped: jillian goes to raw and victoria to smackdown. victoria had turned into a very bland heel on raw and this move will give her a fresh start. also, as jared pointed out, jillian hall is probably the best female wrestler on the WWE payroll (with the exception of Mickie James?) so her move to the A show is very deserving.

finally, i hate to say it, but i think the sandman is on raw to be phased out. i'll be surprised if they even let him do his entrance. look for him to start out in the ring next week on raw and get killed by snitsky.
