One Night Stand Predictions

Tomorrow night's PPV has the best card that we've seen since Wrestlemania. A lot of these matches are tough ones to call, but let's get down to it.

Kane vs. Mark Henry
Lumberjack Match

Why do they keep making a great entertainer like Kane lose to such crappy wrestlers? I don't know, but I think it will happen again.
Winner: Mark Henry

Randy Orton vs. RVD
Stretcher Match
This should be an awesome match. Now, it's "common knowledge" that this will be RVD's last match with WWE (at least for a while) but it is also known that Vince McMahon doesn't like the fact that everybody knows this. I don't think that will make a difference. Look for RKO to "kill the legend" of RVD.
Winner: Randy Orton

CM Punk, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer vs. Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker
Table Match
This should also be a good match, but I think it's a pretty easy one to call. Look for CM Punk's push to continue and for the New Breed to continue to fall apart.
Winners: CM Punk, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer

The Hardys vs. World's Greatest Tag Team
Ladder Match for the World Tag Team Championship
This, along with the stretcher match, will probably be the match of the night. Now it would not surprise me at all if Haas and Benjamin won the belts somehow, seeing as WWE wants the Hardys to each be singles wrestlers. I think that Matt and Jeff will keep the belts at One Night Stand, though.
Winners: The Hardys

Melina vs. Candice Michelle
Pudding Match
It was made a non-title match...because Candice Michelle will win it
Winner: Candice Michelle

Edge vs. Batista
Steel Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
This match seems pretty straightforward. Edge has been guaranteed a long title run, and it is extremely possible that Batista will be drafted to RAW soon. So...
Winner: Edge

Vince McMahon vs. Bobby Lashley
Street Fight for the ECW World Championship
I really don't like this storyline, but thankfully I think it will end tonight. Bobby Lashley "overcomes the odds" and wins the ECW title back.
Winner: Bobby Lashley

John Cena vs. The Great Khali
Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WWE Championship
I really think that they'll go all out in this match. Cena can be more hardcore than people give him credit for, and I think we'll see that in this match. I also think we'll see him retain, setting up for a Cena-Batista feud in a few weeks.
Winner: John Cena

There it is! As always, please post your responses and especially your disagreements. I will write a One Night Stand reaction and see how I did.

Excellent picks, Drew. They all seem to be dead on and logical, although I disagree with the Hardy Boyz pick.

I'm watching SNME now and they just had Khali beat Cena clean and they're playing up all these angles against Cena, saying "How will Cena beat him? and "How will Cena get him off his feet?" Usually, when the WWE tries to lead the fans that far in one direction, it means they're going to end up in the other direction by the end of the night.

SNME isn't that bad, actually. It's like RAW on a Saturday with the SMACKDOWN announcers. Weird, but not bad.

My mistake on the announcers. It's Lawler from RAW and Cole from SMACKDOWN. So, in other words, the worst of each team.

Just saw the arm wrestling match. McMahon has Mark Henry take his place who is losing to Lashley when he breaks the grip and takes some cheap shots on Lashley. Lashley returns with a spear on Henry, but McMahon blindsides Lashley with a chair shot.

Did anyone else notice that they keep calling Henry a silverback, which is a species of gorilla? Or that they keep saying he's from the jungle. I mean, the WWE has had some off-color story lines (necrophilia and incest among them), but blatant racism seems to be crossing the line of decency.

haha racism? WWE does the same with other guys...have you noticed that a lot of the main heels are incomprehensible foreigners? i think it's something that makes it easier to put wrestlers over as bad guys.

Remember when they had the Daivari and Hassan right after 9/11? You can always count on the WWE (and South Park) to break all social taboos and let you know when its okay to make fun of something. For a good lesson in WWE's social policy, see the Sgt. Slaughter-Iron Sheik feud during the 80s. Hilarious stuff.

Alright you two, let's make comments about the predictions.

I think Drew's predictions are very good, except I think that RVD will beat Randy Orton. Think about it, RVD gets to leave with a huge win in a huge match at a ppv in a specialty match. Could this action make RVD leave on good terms with WWE? Who knows. But we do know that RVD would not be upset with a win to temporarily "end" his WWE career (as you can tell I think that he will come back).

I've heard that RVD re-did his contract and is staying, so I do expect him to win.

Also, I think that Striker will cost the New Breed the win, dissolving the NB into nothing but solidifying the Burke-Cor Von tag team.

The picks on the championships seem straightforward...Edge has the best chance of retaining, Cena next, and then McMahon. I can't imagine that they have McMahon retain.

Every time they give Khali a title opportunity, I pray that they don't have him win. Hopefully, after this loss, they'll pull him out of the title scene and let him battle with the other monsters (Henry, Kane, Snitsky). With the draft next week, any of those match ups could be possible.

so I did not get to see one night stand like I wanted to because I broke my leg in two places the week before in a Rugby game. I did hear it was really good. well when my sister told me what happend to Rob Van Dam I feel odd for saying this but I cryed for almost two hours I hope he get's better soon because Rob Van Dam is the best and and he is really hot! but everyone knows that and randy orton can go to hell.I think randy wishes he could be as good as Rob Van Dam but he naver will be because randy orton suck's big time.
