New World Heavyweight Champ: The Great Khali

According to several sources, in the main event of the Smackdown tapings tonight The Great Khali will win the vacated World Heavyweight Championship. This is absolutely ATROCIOUS and the WWE should know better than this...here's why.

World Championships have always been precious in the WWE. They recognize those who have dedicated their lives to the wrestling business and have fought for every bit of their success. Remember how emotional it was when Chris Benoit finally won this title at Wrestlemania XX? Or when Rey Mysterio was finally the top wrestler on the show last year? Winning the World Heavyweight Championship was a well-deserved reward for both of these guys.

The Great Khali is none of the following things: entertaining, experienced, interesting, or over with the crowd. He is only this: really tall. Why not crown this guy World Champion?

I am very concerned that Khali winning the World Heavyweight Championship diminishes its importance. Let's take a look at all of the wrestlers to hold this title since it's creation in 2002: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Goldberg, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, Batista, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Booker T, The Undertaker, Edge. Does Khali compare to any of these guys?

There are many other wrestlers on the Smackdown roster that are more deserving of the title. Even MARK HENRY is more deserving. Kane would have been the most logical choice to me: he's fun to watch, he's experienced, he's interesting, he's always over with the crowd, and he could have had a great title run. It's debatable whether or not Matt Hardy is ready for the title, but I think it'd be much better to see him as champ than The Great Khali.

In the end, this will probably be used as means to put over Batista or even Rey Mysterio. It will be another one of those "overcome the odds" storylines that we've been seeing so much in WWE main events.

What do you think? Should The Great Khali's oversized and overrated carcass be the World Heavyweight Champion?

Fuck this. I'd rather have Matt Hardy win it...and that's saying something. At least Hardy is over and has been working hard for the last decade...

This is Absurd, there are atleast a handful of others that could have held the championship, especially someone like Kane, he's been around so long and although not at his dominant best of yester year could still hold the championship with credibility and respect.

I can't think of anyone who is less deserving.

well maybe I am less deserving of the title then the great khali...so i guess you are wrong ben

Benjamin Zeidler said...

Disagree. I think you'd be way more over with the fans and would be able to run a match with a quicker pace than Khali.

It's time to put the belt on Misssssssteeerrrrr Kennnneeeddddyyyyy

well lets think with some mature level. if khali deserves he would win the title one day. if others deserve than they would win the title. rather criticising u should appreciate that other countries can present such huge monsters. it felt from ur comments that ur affraid from others.

goooood u should be..

You are wrong. Khali deserves this. He doesn't has to be one with the crowd or hilarious. He is trong and he deserves it. It's about skill. Let's wait and see how he defends his belt. It's not like he will hold the belt forever without defending.

Pam,

You couldn't be more wrong. That's exactly the point -- Khali doesn't deserve it! People like Kane and Matt Hardy have been in the business for decades longer than Khali. This has nothing to do with what country Khali comes from. Every country has guys that are this big...what a bizarre and ignorant statement you made.

Praveen,
Just because someone is strong doesn't mean they desaerve tobe a world champion. You say it is about skill, but Khali has none! Earlier in his wrestling career, he killed a man as a result of a botched move. And earlier in his short WWE career, he had to be pulled from programming because he was hurting guys and botching moves left and right. Backstage resports say that no one wanted to wrestle him. If you are talking about skill, then surely you would know that Khali has very little. It's not like he could hold the belt forever? Taker and Edge are out; see: John Cena. You've matched Pam's ignorance perfectly. Congrats!

The Wrestling Bros said...

haha...i was going to say something about this...but Ben covered it pretty well

Benjamin Zeidler said...

I bet they like John Cena.

i really dont see why he doesnt deserve it, and u mabye u want to be ignorant and look blindly at the situation, but the fact is, most ppl dont like him cuz of his race, when the crowd boo's him, most of them are thinkin, "whos that immigrant indian fag." i guarantee if he was white, he wouldnt be hated so much, he would be praised as "natural talent"

who gives a damn. the dudes a beast. i cant see matt hardy as a heavyweight.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

I don't like him because he's boring and legitimately cannot wrestle. Ask any insider or anyone with the slightest bit of wrestling experience...he's awful.

khali is just a stepping stone for some awesome batista move, like brock lesnar suplexing the big show off the turn-buckle to make the ring explode...

Benjamin Zeidler said...

Khali as champ has nothing to do with religion. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It's like saying The Undertaker is a Christian and we have to respect him because of his religion.

We might have to respect Khali as a person, but certainly not as a wrestler.

Anonymous said...

are u thick khali's the best earned that belt

Benjamin Zeidler said...

You couldn't find anyone in the wrestling business who would agree with that statement.

Anonymous said...

Even I dont like khali much, becoz he has no match,, for some reasons he is always superior to his counterparts like kane, undertaker etc,, though it is claimed tht kane and few other wrestlers are 7 feet, but they really look sucking small in front of khali,, thts why i dont like khali, however i agree tht he is an exceptional player of the game. but if you get him in the match no one can match him,, then whts the use of watching him.. Even i want to the the part of that crowd which for some reason pretend tht they dont like khali at all but from inside want to knw every bit of information about him...

Anonymous said...

you all are racist...only reason u fools are saying this about great kahli is cuz u are one sided americans!...you can never see a outsider as khali be at the top. Khali has worked hard and is worthy enough to be consdidered a champ so keep your mouth shut espically the benjamin guy...

Benjamin Zeidler said...

It comes down to one thing: he's not a good wrestler. I mean, you could say that he has no mic skills or charisma or marketability, but I don't even need to go to those lengths to make my point. This is wrestling and he can't wrestle.

You can't win a replica of the belt. You can just buy one.

You idiots only like him because he's Indian, anyway.

Learn to spell correctly and write in complete sentences or get out of the country.

So you think Khali is just tall. How about a professional bodybuilder means his muscles are real. Who else have you seen 7 foot 3 inches with all muscle. Ya thats what I thought.
Hes also a x wrestler in India means he can lay the smack down if he wanted to. Also a cop in India so he does have brains smarter than most people his height. It just seems to be some North Americans are jelouse because hes brown. They have nobody to match him. Let me just list some wrestlers when I see them on T.V. I feel like changing the channel because there small.
Who cares about small wrestlers.
They take steroids to get big not small. Good wrestlers are khali
cena, HHH, kane, undertaker, batista, mysterio makes up with his acrobatics, and any one else who is big or intense but matt hardy
mr kenedy ric flair bunch of nothing they go there and i feel like going to sleep we need freaks not a bunch of nothings seems to me there just there because there down with the white culture anyways get rid of the boring and small and put in the freaks and I might not change the channel

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I don't know how many ways I can say it. Khali is not a good wrestler. He's not a good technical wrestler, he's not a good power wrestler (a la The Undertaker), and he's not an exciting wrestler. The fact that he's "brown" as you say, has nothing to do with it.

Anonymous said...

The thing I said is not the most idiotic thing youve ever heard. It's just an opinion that does't match yours. So your good at Comebacks only in English thou. And you shouldn't be taking about being rational. Nobody would be in this chat room if you didn't start the stupid topic. And may God have mercy on your soul. Khali is a good entertainer. If you have a problem with it find a
new hobby. And the fact that hes brown has everything to do with it. It always has it always will. Take it easy on your English skills. Put some thoughts behind your words. Think before you speak.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

This isn't a chat room, but I suppose that's beside the point.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the wrestling industry who would call Khali "a great entertainer."

For example, I happen to love The Rock. He was brown. And why I love him has nothing to do with his skin color. It has to do with his ability to wrestle and entertain, neither of which are qualities that Khali possesses.

Are you "brown?" I'm willing to bet that that has to do with your bitterness and refusal to admit Khali sucks. It's people like you who take the emphasis off of wrestling and on to things like race.

Please stop posting on this board. I will just delete your comments.

Thanks,

My first post on this board... are some of these guys actually serious about 'racism' being the reason why people think Khali is not a good wrestler?? if you'd paint him green, purple or pink polka dots, it wouldn't make him better or worse as a wrestler!

You have to differentiate between 'liking' a wrestler as either him being good at what he does, OR whether or not he appeals to you!

example: Hulk Hogan... he had 5 wrestling moves and sucked at 3 of those... but incredible panache and could play a 90k strong audience... he'd sell seats! so, is he a good or a bad wrestler?? see what I mean?

Anyway: I think Khali is impressive in his own way... but there are three major problems:

1. mic skills: the language barrier seems not surmountable... and the interpreter isn't a very elegant solution (IMHO didn't work very well for Umaga/Armando either)

2. extremely sluggish: the other 'big' guys (Taker, Kane, Nash, Nathan Jones, even Abyss) certainly are not that slow

3. he is a bit TOO big: hardly ANY current wrestler can apply his tm-finisher... can't Batista-bomb him or properly chokeslam him; can't really do any good power-move on him... (same prob as Viscera and Big Show); also, it's not easy to give him a credible loss to a much smaller opponent without some kind of trickery; all that's left are submission moves à la STFU; my point is... matches don't only get limited by HIS lack of good moves, but also by the limited number of spectacular moves he can sell...

Does he deserve the title? I'm inclined to say 'no', but he may yet improve... I REAALLLLLYY hated Cena when he became the champ, and now I can almost bear him! (haha) ; and I'm not at all moved by HHH's persona, but find his skill (mic, show element, moves) extremely good and entertaining!

dude khali is a joke the wwe is a joke you say he worked hard all his life? fucking morons you dont work hard to get tall all he does is take fucking steroids and you say he is not a good wrestler? Fuck all of you, the wwe has NO wrestlers in it, the wwe is NOT wrestling, it a fake entertainment, put on tv so all you fucking suckers watch it and pay 50 fucking bucks for a pay per view that all you fuckers could just download off the internet if you wanted to for free! Khalli, Cena, Bastardtista, HHH, Umaga, Hardy, BRETT HART, OWEN HART, CHRIS BENOIT, THEY ARE ALL STUPID AND THEY ALL SUCK, WRESTLING IS FAKE AND THE STEROIDS THEY USE HAVE RUINED MANY LIVES.

Anonymous said...

Not all people chose to be thieves, some pay for what they get, even if it's '50 bucks', and not all feel the need to repeatedly punctuate every sentence with 'fuck' or 'fucking', some can articulate without that. It's impossible to take anything you say seriously.
And you call OTHER people morons... that's rich!

Anonymous said...

YOU ARE A LOSER! CAN YOU HONESTLY SAY THAT WRESTLING IS GOOD WHEN CHRIS BENOIT MURDERED HIS OWN, INNOCENT FAMILY AND THEN KILLED HIMSELF BECAUSE OF HIS ROID RAGE? ALL BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID FAKE WRESTLING! AND THE FUNNY PART IS THAT IT'S NOT EVEN WRESTLING! WRESTLING IS NOT JUMPING OFF ROPES AND SLAMMING INTO A GUY ON THE GROUND WHO IS "TOO HURT TO GET UP" YET 10 SECONDS LATER HE GETS UP AND WINS THE MATCH WITH THIS SUDDEN "BURST" OF ENERGY!!!! WRESTLING IS WHAT YOU SEE IN THE OLYMPICS, NOT THIS FAKE PHONY SHIT! ALL WRESTLING FANS ARE STUPID, AND WHEN YOU SAY NOT EVERYONE CHOOSES TO BE THIEVES, I CAN GET THESE WRESTLING PAY PER VIEWS ON FREE TO AIR SATELLITE, I DONT PAY A PENNY, AND GET MORE CHANNELS THAN THE LOSERS WHO PAY FOR IT MONTHLY AND FOR THE PAY PER VIEW, AND IT IS NOT EVEN STEALING!!!! IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL!!!!! CHECK IT OUT YOURSELF!!!!! ALSO, IF YOU HAD ANY BRAINS AT ALL, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT DOWNLOADING THESE EVENTS ARE NOT ILLEGAL SO LONG AS YOU DONT DOWNLOAD THE ENTIRE THING, THEREFORE IF YOU DOWNLOAD USING A TORRENT, DOWNLOAD THE FIRST HALF (FIRST 3 MATCHES FOR EXAMPLE) IN ONE FILE AND THE SECOND HALF (LAST 3 MATCHES) IN ANOTHER FILE. THIS IS NOT STEALING, IT IS NOT THIEVING, IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL AND ANYONE WHO DOESNT DO IT AND PAYS FOR IT IS A MESSED UP LUNATIC RETARD. BY THE WAY, WAS THE WORD FUCK USED AT ALL IN THIS MESSAGE OTHER THAN RIGHT NOW? NO IT WASNT.

ok, my second post then! ;)

1. of course it's not "wrestling"! it's "pro wrestling" and everyone knows the difference very well! (crossovers like Angle, the Steiners and Lesnar are probably heretics in your book) ; that takes care of your first... well... 'argument', I guess....

2. of course it's "fake"; they don't pretend to be doing real matches or really busting spines or breaking backs... ; if they did, they'd do one show per year and spend the rest of the year in hospital; the "fake' of course only applies to the competitive element, not to the actual performance and skill; do you also mock movie and stage actors when they don't really stab/shoot/kill anyone? tv/movie/stage is also "fake", as it's a performance; wrestling fans are just people who appreciate that kind of entertainment; perhaps you have a different hobby, like collecting stamps or licking toads (you kinda sound like it) or glueing your finger to the caps-lock key of your keyboard... ; so much for your second 'argument'

3. the use and abuse of substances: nobody ever denied that it happens and that sometimes the consequences are extremely bad; sadly enough, this has happened in ALL branches of the entertainment business (pro cyclists or athletes, bodybuilders; actors; models; Olympic wrestlers?; rock stars; etc etc). The only pro sportsman I think would have NEVER resorted to performance-enhancing substances is Miroslav Mecir... but that's another story!

4. downloading and the likes to obtain ppv things without paying: legislation differs a bit around the globe; however, stealing half a loaf from one baker and another half from a different baker often still makes you a thief...

5. generalisation like 'wrestling can't be good because Benoit killed his family' is quite dangerous... and ill-advised! I'm sure you also know that, but just want to put oil on the fire, so to speak...

Would you mind telling us where you are from and how old you are? (just curious)

(allow me to add that the comment about Honky actually made me laugh! sadly enough, the sheer irrelevance of that remark doesn't make it less true... in the sense that he was a great entertainer in his days; I assume you were quite peeved when he had to job for the UW and drop his precious IC belt)

Anonymous said...

Its not pro wrestling, its fake i told you to look up downloading of ppv's, you didnt, steroids are used in professional sports in which abusers arent "acting" the part, they wish to be more successful in their sport, and the sport they participate is physically demanding. You cant tell me that batista and chris benoit need to use steroids to keep in shape, they use them because they are addicted, or want to look good on camera, which is NOT necessary, and even if it did help ratings, would not be right, and would not be allowed. Lesnar left because he had sens, he realized that his talent was being wasted, his REAL, PRO wrestling talent that he proved capable of in college, and that is why he moved to MMA. Also, you say and claim that these pro wrestlers have skill. If Donald Trump, an overweight, out of shape old man can get in the ring and entertain the crowd with NO previous fake wrestling experience, AND get the stunner and make it "look" as real as every other wrestler does, you cant tell me that these other guys, like batista, who can lift 300 pounds and are huge and in shape, have fake wrestled their whole life and have "skill" to show for it, give me a break. Also, you claim that oh of course its fake, they cant break each others spines.....but the truth is that MANY people believe that it is real! One of my childhood friends would tape every episode and no matter how hard i tried to tell him it was fake he INSISTED that it was real. I dont understand how you have the nerve to speak for the millions of loser fake wrestling fans around the world, unless you have spken personally to each one....? I think not. You are telling me that this monster 250 pound+ batista cant take a guys hand off his head? He almost "passed" out from khali's "vice grip"? WHAT A JOKE! PUNCH HIM IN THE STOMACH, DROP TO THE GROUND ROLD AND STAND BACK UP OR DO THE EASIER THING, PULL HIS HAND OFF YOUR HEAD LIKE ANY 14 YEAR OLD COULD DO.
"Drug Usage: While the outcomes of the matches are pre-determined, the effort to put on those matches takes a huge toll on their bodies. The wrestlers are on the road over 300 days a year and unlike other athletes, they do not have an off season. In addition, accidents do happen and injuries occur. Unfortunately, if wrestlers take time off, their wallets will suffer significantly. These factors all lead to the deadly slope that many wrestlers have found themselves facing. They get addicted to pain killers to numb the pain. This medicine keeps them too lethargic to wrestle, so they take drugs to get high. This deadly mixture leads to illegal drug dependency that many wrestlers have to cope with even after they retire."

and these are just the famous ones. Go find me some famous ahletes who have died since 1985 before they were 65. Even if you get a list this long, that is with all sports combined, and those sports, like i said earlier, are physically demanding, whereas these "pro wrestlers", who dont even attain that great of skill (khali for example, the "world heavyweight champion") need to take the steroids to maintain their position in the business, not to maintain their position competitively. You can say what you want now, but think of all the bad wrestling has done to thousands of lives that were affected by these deaths, is it worth it to get entertainment which is a made up story and fake? Other sports are entertaining, this is not a sport, it is a joke.

ahum... Lesnar left because he had sense and his talent was being wasted? Do you believe that?? And if his 'talent' is to mysteriously get fat and start fighting in K1/MMA... poor guy! (after wanting to play NFL without any previous experience, then getting cut after 3 days and sent to a Euro league where his talent was also being wasted?); Angle seems to be enjoying himself in 'fake' wrestling though....... (nice haircut ;) )

About skill and endurance: whatshisname (Maurice or so) the black NFL player who wrestled BB Bigelow in some Wrestlemania... ; obviously I don't know a thing about American Football, but I'd presume he WAS in shape... yet after the match, he practically collapsed from fatigue!

Did I talk to each and every fan? no... but more than your one friend who's a die-hard nutball ;)

I'm certainly not saying u aren't correct about some things... pretty much the things you quoted from that website... ; but... come on... some of those wrestlers died from cancer, coke abuse, car accidents or falling from a roof!

Not sure what you want to make clear by wrestlers who sell moves... that's just part of the show!

The WWF even changed their name to incorporate the word 'entertainment' and Vince seems to think he gets a dollar for every time he uses it on screen! haha ;)

I appreciate the fact that you demonstrate your ability to speak proper English... and you make some good points... however, please don't say that something is entertaining and something else isn't... because that's purely subjective! I know people who get extremely excited over golf, cricket, baseball, checkers, synchronised swimming and rollerblading... and those seem so very boring to me... but hey, if THEY like it, so be it! (curling and lacrosse also seem like a joke to me, but you don't see me posting that online! oh... darn)

Have there been terrible wrestlers? oh yes... I can't disagree with that at all! Are they really void of skill and physical ability? hhmm... I lift weights too... and you may think that juggling a 300 pound man around requires no real skill and strength, but I keep wondering how the hell they manage that!

Downloading ppv? ahum... I don't really have a choice, except for buying the dvd! (haha)

All the bad wrestling has done? well... then you can just go and abolish football (the real football, not the one with the huge brown egg and guys in padded suits, helmets and teeth protectors), pro cycling and pretty much close down German and Eastern European athletics leagues...

Ah, and if some or lots of people want to believe that it's 'real', what I can I say?? when 'Rocky' was in the cinema here, there were also about 50 people chanting his name during the fight... and when Star Wars premiered, I found myself surrounded by 12 midgets who made their own SW suits (like the Ewoks in ROTJ apparently had to do too) and three Darth Vaders all claiming to be real! oh well... maybe those stupid wrestling fans just find it a bit of a catharsis or ... hey, even have FUN!

(ah... and what would André, Khali and most others have done without the pro wrestling business? circus freaks or furniture movers or bouncers at a club?)

Anonymous said...

ah, by the way... what did Lesnar do after his NFL adventure? yep... went to fake wrestling in Japan; I read stories about him wanting his old job back in WWE, but of course I can't be certain that's true; maybe he didn't mind wasting his enormous talent so much after all! and I'm not sure that K1 isn't a waste of his talent! he might have to fight a brawler à la Tank Abbot and get knocked out of his... ah, no... doesn't wear boots in those fights...

Also... I didn't even know there was a professional wrestling circuit... thought it was all amateur and collegiate... and the aggregate term 'pro wrestling' was just used to describe the antics on display in WWE/TNA etc ; they can call it whatever they want, it's not my fault the term confuses you... it's been around since the interbellum!

About steroids etc... I know people who take that stuff just to be able to strut around on the beach and flex muscles... ; and do you think it's ok to use roids and the likes when in a 'real, competitive' sport and thus cheat, but not ok when used by Batista?

Oh, and I'm sure I can find 100s of (former) athletes who died before the age of 65 if I am allowed to count all 'natural' deaths too!

Anonymous said...

khali was an actor before he was a wrestler, cant believe you didnt know that. There is barely a person on that list that didnt die from a source of wrestling, some died, if you read the quote above, from a combination of stress, anxiety, drug abuse other than steroids (pain killers, coke, etc.), getting addicted to steroids, having too large of bodies, being either extremely muscular or extremely fat and putting too much strain on their bodies (blood circulation, etc), some died as a result of or during a stunt in th wwe, i suppose youll have no problem pointing out at least one specific person, and more. Also, how many people have died just in the WWE alone? Forget abut TNA and ECW, this number alone, i can guarantee, is higher than any other number producable from any other sport (SINGLE LEAGUE). You say cycling football etc should be abolished, you said you could make a list of people who died from these sports, let me assure you, you wont be able to make a list of one sport with even HALF as many deaths as wwe, and that proves that most of the deaths on that list are the result of their wrestling careers. You can combine sports together, and even if you combine them, creating a list proves nothing, as this is a ratio of 3 or 4 or more sports to one. You said that i was referring that it is ok for athletes to use steroids but not batista, i never said that. I said it makes sense for pro athletes to use steroids and try not getting caught because they might know they are not capable of winning, and their sport is very physically demanding and they need to be better than everyone else. This is extremely different than the wwe. I dont say that uysing steroids in ANY case is ok, but in real, professional sports, it is understandable, but still not ok. In the wwe, you dont need to physically prove yourself at all, as long as you are strong enough to lift 300+ pound freaks you are good. The need for wrestlers to be freaks (EXTREMELY overweight muscle wise) is the reason they turn to steroids, as natural workouts just wont cut it for them, they have busy schedules, and must rehearse, travel, etc, etc. and dont necessarily have time to train enough. Using steroids is ridiculous in the wwe because it is only done to keep fans happy, and happy fans are not worth dead lives. Also, the wwe has recently PROVED that you dont need to be built or huge to win the title, im sure you know what i mean....finley's little friend. Im sure if cornswaggle or whatever his name is can beat 6 other guys that are twice his size than rey mysterio can easily beat one, make sense? Oh, and finally, when you say brock lesnar got fat...why do you think he mysteriously got fat?....maybe because he was previously on steroids?...maybe because steroids are not permitted in mma?....i think so. MMA is not wasted skill, mma is using skill you have built up year after year after year your whole life. THEWRE IS NO WAY BATISTA HAS PRACTICED HIS WHOLE LIFE TO BECOME WHAT IT IS TODAY, HE MIGHT HAVE TRAINED LIKE CRAZY, OR "WRESTLED HIS WHOLE LIFE" BUT HE DID NOT "TECHNICALLY" PRACTICE WRESTLING MOVES DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY, AS THESE ARE NOT HARD MOVES TO DO, ANYONE CAN DO A "BATISTA BOMB" IF THEY ARE STRONG AND PRACTICE FOR A WEEK CONSTANTLY, OR IF THE PERSON JUMPS FOR THEM, WHICH IS USUALLY WHAT HAPPENS IN THE WWE ANYWAYS. Also, you say that curling and whatever are boring, but once again, these are REAL sports, which people have to never stop practicing to beat the other person. The fate of the athlete is in their own hands, and they need to do whatever they can possibly do to beat their opponent, where in the WWE, the wrestlers fate is determined by other people, people that dont care about their employees dying because all the want is more money and a bunch more happy fans to give it to them. My childhood friend has since passed away due to an overdose and drug abuse throughout his life (not through wrestling or sports at all) and i am committed to stand up to anyone who doesnt accept the fact that people die, but they dont care, or even is they do, dont do anything about it and move on, watching as more lives deteriorate. This whole conversation is absurd, and you know deep down inside that you are wrong. Wrestling has hurt many lives, and happy fans arent worth it.

Khali's run wasn't bad at all especially with the introduction of his two new dominating holds plus his offense is solid with a variation of head-butts, chops, kicks and throws and he has a good high impact finisher. Khali's pound and ground style is as good as anyones. Some of you get too worked up over nothing like little freaks or something. Damn!

Khali sucks so much.

Wow some people are really that stupid!
racism?? yeah right!
There has been many non-american successful wrestlers ..
jimmy snuka , Ivan Putski, and one of the biggest superstars the rock wasnt American!
his father was African - Canadian and his mother was samoan.
so its definitly not racism
..
lol it isnt an one sided American view.. im not even american lol

Compared to previous superstars who have held the world heavyweight championship Khali is by far the worst out of them .. i mean cmon .. HBK or Khali
or HHH and Khali?

Khali is just a one time Gimick.
the only thing he has is size..

and its boring...
great superstars like Rey Mysterio have no chance to make a great match

I can see why no one would want to wrestle him ..
even the biggest and toughest superstars like the Undetrtaker who are meant to be the strongest and superior seem inferior

I definitly cannot see the Great Khali as a lasting superstar like HHH, Edge and The Rock

Everyone knows that pro-wrestling is a bunch of theatrics. The wrestlers are no doubt athletic and loaded with skill...but the primary task of each of these individuals is to entertain and draw moolah to the WWE coffers.

Gone are the times when wrestling moves and technical prowess were the hallmark of a champion. To me...if you can either make the crowd hate you to hell OR cheer you to glory, you will be MADE champion by the folks who script this drama.

Personally, I think Khali is not too slow for a man his size. And hes got one half of what can make you a champion - the crowds hate him. Sadly, he does lack badly on the mic. skills.

But to say that someone is more deserving that someone else based on wrestling finesse is a bunch of baloney because this sport is not a sport but a sham.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

Your lack of wrestling knowledge aside, you're misinterpreting one key component on a great champ. Yes, some of the best have been hated by the fans, BUT it was because they made it that way with their dastardly deeds and superior mic skills, not because they just plain sucked.

Im not no fancy wrestling fan matter of fack i think its really dumb..my opinion aside, I think Khali has every right to be champ Benjamin zeidler youll probably say some fancy comeback about how his showmanship sucks blah blah but in the end your opinion dosent matter neither does mine Khali won the heavyweight championship but just because hes not a great showman dont mean hes any less deserving again this is "My" opinion and you got yours thats what the first ammendment to the constitution is for "Freedom of Speech". (mind any of my spelling mistakes)

Well why dont u just shut the fuck up for once BENJAMIN....i can prob. beat ur ass anytime anywhere...im not taking anybodies side...but what are you people even fighting abt. Its fricken fake stuff...who the fuck cares who wins. u need to understand that WWE needs to repect everyone and offer the championship to everyone at least once for god sake. and its khalli this time. I hate all these racist fuckers out there. Khali just joined WWE like what in 2006 or somethin. Have you people even read his history. he used to beat bricks on railroads...and now he's a WWe champion..like common...the guy's makin more money than all of us combined. It's all abt luck.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

"WWE needs to repect everyone and offer the championship to everyone at least once"

That right there is by far the dumbest and least educated comment on this wall. So by your logic, Funaki, The Miz, and Matt Striker should all be WWE champ some day? Not only is that ridiculous but it completely devalues winning the belt.

All of you crazy insane people are stupid. You need to stop being so judgemental. Oh, the Great Khali is a very big man!! SOOOOOOOO WHAAAAAAAT?!! He probably has more sense than all of you put together. Your ignorance is stunning. If you knew what Khali had to go through to get where he is, you wouldn't be saying all of this crazy, idiotic stuff. Wait, hold on, let me put it this way. If you were in Khali's shoes, and had to go though being impoverished all of your life, your mouth would stay shut!!! Oh by the way, cursing or swearing, for those of you lacking mental capabilities, is cover-up being just plain stupid. Khali is great guy in reality. I wonder what you guys(and gals) do in your spare time, besides letting everyone know you're stupid? And yes I do agree, if you've got sooooo much mouth, why don't you get in that ring with the Great Khali and fight him?!!! I know you wouldn't beat him. I'll tell the truth I definitely wouldn't beat him!! Cursed be thy ignorance! Khali has dedicated his life to helping poor, impoverished people. I don't see you guys out there helping anyone!! If you were to wrestle him right now, this very minute, and he got that Khali Vice Grip on you, you wouldn't be talking junk!!
Cursed be thy ignorance!!

Oh, and one more thing to that least comment that I wrote, Khali DID NOT, murder that guy. That guy, whose name is Brian Ong, did the move wrong and ended up landing on his head, twice which resulted in his death. When Khali picked up Brian He (meaning Brian)grabbed Khali's shirt nad slid down. His head hit the ground. Brian did this not once but twice, which resulted in his death.

"He probably has more sense than all of you put together." Probably not. I'm a junior at Georgetown University along with Drew, who wrote this article.

"If you knew what Khali had to go through to get where he is, you wouldn't be saying all of this crazy, idiotic stuff." Do you know how many wrestlers have been through difficult times to get where they are in the industry? All of them.

"Khali is great guy in reality." Do you know him personally?

"And yes I do agree, if you've got sooooo much mouth, why don't you get in that ring with the Great Khali and fight him?!" My job is to write, not to fight. I'll let The Undertaker handle Khali for me.

"If you were to wrestle him right now, this very minute, and he got that Khali Vice Grip on you, you wouldn't be talking junk!!" The vice grip is one of most ridiculous moves in all of wrestling. It's not technical, athletic, impressive, or enjoyable.

As a matter of fact I do know him personally. He's a soft-spoken gentleman, obviously you are not. Just because you are in college means NOTHING!! Common sense is worth a lot more than "book sense." I can tell you don't have a lot of common sense. You're just a big, fat chicken.""I'll let the Undertaker handle things for me."" Last time I checked the person who has soooo much mouth backs up what he or she says, not let anyone else fight for them!! It's obvious you wouldn't last a minute in that ring!! The next time I watch wrestling I expect to see you "Badasses" going up against the Great Khali alone. Not Undertaker, but you!!

Oh, I'm sorry I need to add to that last comment I just made. The ignorant, ridiculous retard (I ain't going to say to retard, that's not nice). Yes I said "ain't", you got a problem with it? Anyway the ignorant, completely stupid crackhead that said "They all use steroids" needs to get a new hobby. Take up stamp-collecting or something, because you definitely need to quit posting on this board. Khali is 7"3.5", that being his real height. Unlike this crackhead there were no "steroids" involved. There is no Gigantism involved either. You people are just jealous because he's bigger and stronger than all of you. He's actually a lot faster than you would expect of giants. If Smackdown! hadn't made him into a Frankenstein appearance, you would see more of his agility. He was and still is an athelete. If I knew any of you in person I would beat you over the head with cinder block. Notice I didn't say brick.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

"Last time I checked the person who has soooo much mouth backs up what he or she says, not let anyone else fight for them!" I'm not a wrestler, I'm a writer, and I call things as I see them. And as I see them, Khali sucks.

Anonymous said...

Okay, so maybe he does suck a little. I do agree with you along those terms. When he first won that championship I was angry. I do like Batista amd I wanted him (meaning Batista) to keep it. Khali's a huge man, so he can't do too much. He might severely injure someone. I can see why he won't go to the top rope. He's bigger than Kane!! His shoe size is at least 25E. He can't speak much English, which is why his mic skills are not so great.

Anonymous said...

The Great Khali is a great choice for either the World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Championship and you are obviously someone who still believes Sgt Slaughter joined the Republican Guard and that the Ultimate Warrior was locked in that casket oh so many years ago at the Funeral Parlor. The man sends money home to his parents and is a mentor to the kids in his home town. Not to mention he was a police officer, that takes guts today. So as far as the Great Kahli is concerned, put it on him.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

Let me get this straight...because someone is generous or is a police officer, that means they deserve the most prestigious prize in sports entertainment? Nice logic.

Anonymous said...

The Great Kahli has been in pro wrestling just as long as Kurt Angle and the Hardyz haven't been in wrestling decades longer than anyone so get your facts straight. Contrary to WWE Corporate there are other companies out there to work for so just because they haven't been in the WWE forever doesn't mean they haven't wrestled.

Benjamin Zeidler said...

While Angle and Khali have both been in wrestling since October of 1996, Jeff Hardy debuted in 1994. And that's assuming that length of time wrestling is directly proportional to talent, which is isn't.

Anonymous said...

Ahum, I like Khali but I really don't think he's good enough to win the World Heavyweight Championship. I said he does suck a little. Batista is better off the champion than Khali. I already mentioned in previous posts that he's a great guy helping people. I already said I know him personally.

Anonymous said...

Oh by the way, no one cares about Sgt. Slaughter. You've matched the other anonymous crackhead that said "They all use steroids" ignorance perfectly!!!

Anonymous said...

khali deserves it..hey bejamin, khali didnt kill any1 in prowrestlin, it was an accident and the fault was of that guy killed.....its proven in the court......so shut up....the way wwe presented khali is not right.....he is way too fast man....n way too powerfull.....he is not used to this weird way of fighting of wwe....but hav u seen his spin kicks....tats enough to shut ur things up

Benjamin Zeidler said...

He's too FAST?!

I THINK HE DESERVING HE IS MUCH STRONGER THEN ALL OF THEM OK HE BEAT THEM IN A PUNCH I THINK U KNOW HOW BADLY HE BEAT UNDERTAKER IN HIS FIRST MATCH
