Update: Franca's Suspension and Fine Upheld

Despite an apology and a request for a lighter sentence, luck was still no where to be found for Hermes Franca. The CSAC suspended Hermes France until July 5, 2008 along with a $2,500 fine.

Hermes Franca lost his title shot against Sean Sherk by a unanimous decision at UFC 73: Stacked on July 7.

On July 19, 2007, the CSAC announced that Franca had tested positive for the steroid Drostanolone in a post-fight drug test.

Sherk on the other hand, has filed for an extension on his hearing.
