UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk, who tested positive for steroids (Nandrolone Metabolite, has filed for an extension with the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), delaying his appeal to the steroid allegations.
Sherk's appeal was originally set to take place today, August 6, as well as UFC president Dana White's decision of whether or not to strip Sherk of his belt.
It seems if everyone will have to wait till October for Sherk's hearing and possibilities of Sherk vs. Penn remain hazy.
Sherk had this to say:“I don’t want this to take any longer than it has to, but I hired my lawyer just a couple of weeks ago. I want to get this done as soon as possible so I can fight B.J. [Penn] in November, but the next hearing wouldn’t be until October.”
I will keep you posted on this prolonged drama series.
